The way I see it, I view AI Agents to traditional AI interfaces as parallel to multi-core CPUs to single-core CPUs.

And like the transition to a multi-core architecture, which ultimately shifted the bottleneck of CPU performance into new domains, Agents solve a very real problem with AI implementations of the past 5 years but whose limits will become quickly apparent, in both expected and unexpected ways. Not to mention that Agents require significant investment in processing and bandwidth for AI companies -- who are all still bleeding money at an alarming rate.

Some of the structural challenges for AI Agents will be solved, but whether their utility can be justified within an economically fragile system...that's what I have my biggest doubts about.

I’ve decided to finally kick FOMO and revisit things I’ve really loved earlier in my life. The first thing up: Metal Gear Solid. Picked up the collection on Steam b/c it’s just the easiest way for me to access it these days and beat Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake over the past week. Never played those original ones and it’s very cool to see where the series came from. MG2 is actually quite an impressive 8-bit game, and it was leaps and bounds better than MG. Got a nice supplement that arrived in the mail today to accompany my journey back into the Solid series; can’t wait to play it alongside the MGS!

I’ve settled into using a mix of Current and @NetNewsWire@indieweb.social for my #RSS needs; they fit two ways I enjoy working through my #RSS feeds. For the latter, I’m working on refining the default theme into something a little more elegant without losing the feeling of system integration. Still work to do, but I’m pretty happy with where quotes are, I’ve added a bit of border radius and shadowing to images, tweaked the maximum width, am using New York for the font, and got hyphenation working properly.

Side-note: if you want to do theme development on an iPad, you can use @textastic@social.blach.io to edit the files in the theme package!

For example, if there’s a TV Show I want to re-watch, I’d love to have the next episodes show up in the Next Episodes section as I work through the series again.

I'm behind the times on this, but @matt_birchler@mastodon.social is absolutely right and @ChrisLawley@mastodon.social is absolutely wrong: more people should consider low-profile mechanical keyboards.

I picked one up a 75% low-profile wireless mechanical keyboard and replaced the keycaps with newer Berry-profile ones and it's my ultimate keyboard that's easy to throw in my bag and take to work with me. It's great to type on, flexible to use with multiple computers, and easy to bring with me. So much better than chicklet keyboards.

Picked up Current by @tg@indieweb.social and am syncing it with my #FreshRSS instance to give it a try. It is genuinely a different approach to #RSS and I love many different aspects of the app, but there are a few improvement areas I could see:

• Button to fetch full article content in the article view
• More tutorialization on how the stream works, what's the difference between read and release, what do the different velocities actually do to your articles?
• The iPad app is pretty good in touch mode, but a bit of a disaster in landscape or when there's a M&K attached
• It would be nice to have the letters on the right side to jump through your feed list in the Sources section of the settings
• It would be nice to have the app icon switch light/dark with the system.

That said, I'm glad there's a new way to try and parsing feeds. I typically subscribe to a bit more than I want and pick out the articles that interest me, and I think this can work for that. I'm running v1.0.2 as of writing this.

As the downstream impacts of the AI sphere begin to impact normal people and other industries, the question of how quickly the social permission erodes as the pressures on numerous resources climb keeps coming to mind.

I’ve actually managed to play a few board games lately! Yesterday I took a solo run at #Fallout: The Board Game with the New California and Atomic Bonds expansions. Did an evil run of The Pitt as a Ghoul sided with the Slavers. Tried a couple of house rules for solo and had a great time. Managed a win with only a few turns left before I would have lost…and with 1 HP left! With its expansions it’s still one of my favourite adventure board games out there. Would love more expansions or a new edition one day.
